About the Patients

At NNCIP, access to quality care for patients with Chronic Intractable Pain is our number one concern. Because most of our patients turn to the Internet as a primary source for researching pain treatment options, we have developed a website which patients can turn to when they have not been able to find adequate treatment options anywhere else. The patients who seek our help often find NNCIP as a glimmer of hope and last resort to a health condition which has become a national epidemic. Patients put their trust in NNCIP because of our ability to located doctors who understand and care about their condition.

Because some pain medications inherently cause a physical dependency, some of our patients struggle to cope with how to balance their treatment. Others adapt well to pain medications as one of the many successful treatment disciplines. Regardless, our philosophy at NNCIP is that no patient should be denied the right to seek medical help and any patient who does seek help should have confidence in our ability to provide doctors who understand what they are going through and can help relieve their suffering. If the physician treating the patient feels that there is an issue with addiction even with a patient which has a legitimate pain condition, NNCIP can assist the physician in finding or referring the patient to programs which can help.

Many of patients feel a sense of abandonment from the medical community because they have been categorized as pain medication seekers which is a false and unjust label many pain sufferers are forced to carry. Studies show that as much as thirty percent of people using pain medications may have an addiction or are diverting the medications. If these statistics are true, NNCIP truly believes that the remaining seventy percent should not be penalized due to this unfortunate problem.
